1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you") and LifeTravel concerning your access to and use of the LifeTravel website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 16. By using the Service you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 16 years of age.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and agree to comply with these Terms.
- You are not a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside, or you have obtained verifiable parental consent.
- You will not access the Service through automated or non-human means (bots, scrapers, or scripts) without our prior written consent.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features you must register for an account.
- Accuracy: provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it up to date.
- Security: safeguard your credentials; you are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Notification: notify us immediately at [email protected] upon becoming aware of any unauthorized use.
- One Account Per Person: you may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, limits, or bans.
4. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Copyright
4.1 Ownership and License
- You retain full ownership of your User Content (photos, videos, audio, text, itineraries).
- By posting User Content you grant LifeTravel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate and provide the Service (e.g., displaying photos on your travel map, generating thumbnails, backing up your content).
- This license ends when you delete your content or close your account, subject to our backup retention period of up to 90 days.
4.2 Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that:
- You own your User Content or hold all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions.
- Your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or personality rights.
- You will not upload copyrighted material without the rights holder's express written permission. Claiming "fair use" without legal basis is not a defence.
4.3 Prohibited Content
You may not upload or share content that:
- Is illegal, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or illegal activities
- Infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party
- Contains malware, phishing material, or unsolicited advertising
- Depicts minors in a sexual or suggestive manner (reported to relevant authorities immediately)
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
4.4 Moderation and Copyright
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without prior notice. Users can report objectionable content via the in-app Report function; we review reports promptly and take appropriate action including content removal and account suspension.
For copyright claims or DMCA / EU Copyright Directive notices, contact [email protected]. We will respond to valid notices, remove infringing material, and — for repeat infringers — terminate accounts.
5. AI Assistant Features & Fair Use
5.1 What the AI Assistant Does
LifeTravel includes an AI-powered travel assistant ("AI Assistant") powered by Google Gemini. It generates travel suggestions, itinerary ideas, destination descriptions, and other travel-related content based on the context you provide. The AI Assistant does not have real-time knowledge of prices, availability, safety conditions, or current events and should not be treated as a substitute for professional advice or official sources.
5.2 No Warranty on AI Output
AI-generated content is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only. LifeTravel makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness of any AI suggestion. You must independently verify travel information — including visa requirements, health advisories, transport timetables, and local safety conditions — before acting on it. LifeTravel is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
5.3 Soft Limits on AI Usage (Fair Use Policy)
The AI Assistant is subject to usage limits to ensure consistent service quality for all users:
- Free Tier: limited AI requests per day and per calendar month (exact current limits shown in-app).
- Premium Tier: higher daily and monthly AI request limits (exact current limits shown in-app).
- Limits may be adjusted at any time with reasonable notice.
- Automated or scripted use of the AI Assistant is prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension.
- Attempting to bypass or circumvent usage caps is a violation of these Terms.
5.4 Prohibited AI Use
You may not use the AI Assistant to:
- Generate illegal, harmful, hateful, or deceptive content
- Attempt to extract model weights, system prompts, or proprietary configurations ("jailbreaking" or prompt injection)
- Circumvent AI safety filters
- Generate content that impersonates a real person or entity in a misleading way
- Produce content that violates Section 4.3 (Prohibited Content)
AI features are powered by Google Gemini. Your AI prompts are processed by Google under their privacy and API terms. LifeTravel does not use your prompts to train models.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
LifeTravel offers paid subscriptions ("Subscriptions") and one-time purchases that unlock additional features. The following subsections govern billing, pricing, and refunds.
6.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe, Inc. / Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). We do not store your payment card details or banking credentials. Stripe processes payments under PCI-DSS Level 1 standards.
6.2 Auto-Renewal
Recurring subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Subscription in the app or through your Stripe billing portal.
6.3 Pricing & Price Changes
Prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and include applicable VAT for EU consumers. Prices may vary by region due to local taxes or currency conversion. All applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price increase before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the new price takes effect constitutes acceptance.
6.4 Refunds and Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers)
- EU consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from a digital purchase. By accessing premium features immediately upon purchase, you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal lapses once performance has commenced, unless you have not consented to immediate performance.
- Except as required by applicable law, paid fees are non-refundable.
- If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer protection law, contact us at [email protected] and we will review your case.
7. Location Services and Safety
- Accuracy: GPS location data may be inaccurate. Do not rely on LifeTravel for critical navigation, emergency services, or safety decisions.
- Safety: you are solely responsible for your personal safety while traveling. Do not use the app while driving, cycling, or in any situation where it may endanger yourself or others.
- Third-Party Maps: the Service uses Google Maps Platform. By using location features, you also agree to Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
- Offline Interactions: LifeTravel does not conduct background checks on users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Use the Service to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm any person
- Collect or store Personal Data about other users without their express consent
- Use the Service for unsolicited commercial purposes without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, servers, or networks
- Use the Service as a remote storage or cloud backup for files unrelated to your travel journeys
- Upload excessive data that unreasonably burdens our infrastructure
- Attempt to bypass subscription tier restrictions or AI usage limits
- Create fake accounts, impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use the Service in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation
9. Intellectual Property Rights
All rights in and to the Service — including the codebase, design, graphics, trademarks, and logos — are owned by or licensed to LifeTravel and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. "LifeTravel" and the LifeTravel logo are our trademarks and may not be used without prior written consent.
Feedback you voluntarily provide (e.g., feature suggestions, bug reports) is non-confidential and we may use it for any purpose without compensation or attribution to you.
10. Termination & Inactivity
- We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for breach of these Terms or at our discretion.
- Accounts inactive for more than 24 consecutive months may be deleted. We will attempt to notify you at least 30 days in advance via the email on your account.
- You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your User Content will be deleted within 30 days, subject to our backup retention period.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 14) remain in effect after termination.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LIFETRAVEL DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS OR DEFECTS.
This disclaimer applies equally to AI-generated content, which is provided without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LIFETRAVEL AND ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, AND EMPLOYEES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to LifeTravel in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law, including consumer protection rights.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold LifeTravel and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (1) your violation of these Terms; (2) your User Content; (3) your use of the Service; or (4) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property, privacy, or personality rights.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14.2 EU Online Dispute Resolution
EU consumers may access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14.3 Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to contact us at [email protected] first to resolve any dispute informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of The Netherlands, without prejudice to your rights as an EU consumer.
14.4 Class Action Waiver
To the extent permitted by applicable law, claims may only be brought in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class action or representative proceeding.
15. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: these Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the complete agreement between you and LifeTravel for use of the Service.
- Severability: if any provision is held invalid, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary; all other provisions remain in full effect.
- No Waiver: failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign without restriction.
- Language: these Terms are written in English. Translations are for convenience only; the English version governs in the event of a conflict.
16. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or a prominent in-app notification before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Apple App Store Provisions
If you downloaded the app via the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- This agreement is between you and LifeTravel only, not Apple, Inc. ("Apple").
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty coverage for the app.
- In the event of any app failure, you may notify Apple for a purchase price refund. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- LifeTravel — not Apple — is responsible for addressing product claims, legal compliance issues, and product liability claims relating to the app.
- In the event of a third-party intellectual property infringement claim, LifeTravel — not Apple — is responsible for investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you upon your acceptance.
19. Force Majeure
LifeTravel is not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, government action, pandemics, natural disasters, fires, floods, labour disputes, strikes, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers (including cloud and hosting services).
